Amy Fishbach

For years I was a just a craft dabbler until I discovered the Book Arts in the late '90s.  Ever since then, bookmaking has been a committed passion.  I have learned most of my bookbinding methods by taking intensive week-long workshops at the John C. Campbell Folk School in the mountains of North Carolina (it's like craft camp for adults--pure heaven).  In recent years I have been leading bookmaking workshops at several places including the Cleveland Institute of Art, Heights Arts, and the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage.  And as the K-4 art teacher at the Agnon School in Beachwood, I make sure that my students become proficient bookmakers as well as painters and sculptors.
I am a co-founder of Art Books Cleveland (ABC) which is an organization dedicated to promoting the Book Arts in Northeast Ohio.  My handmade books have been shown in each of our exhibits.  Some of our venues have included The Morgan Art of Papermaking Conservatory, Notre Dame, Tri-C West, and my favorite for name-dropping: The Cleveland Museum of Art's Ingall's Library!
When I'm not busy cutting, gluing, and sewing my books I can be found in the Metroparks playing bluegrass songs on my ukelele.
